Our Philosophy

Our philosophy is to acknowledge and understand the leadership complexities that are associated with higher-level leadership roles, particularly within the C-suite and Board and to further define what ‘success’ looks like at that level. The most successful leaders act on a value-based leadership in order to deliver results. Understanding and defining these values enables us to select and cultivate the right talents who would ultimately have the potential to create opportunities and make a positive impact for Corporate Malaysia. Based on experiences and backed up by years of research on Leadership, we fully understand the requirements of the (3) three Top Leadership Levels:

Senior Management Roles

These roles emphasis on delivering operational excellence and team leadership, aligning departmental efforts with organizational goals through strategic initiatives and cross-functional collaboration.

C-Suite Roles

C-suite leaders require strategic foresight and transformational leadership to drive performance, foster innovation and articulate a unifying vision for sustainable growth.

Board Roles

These roles demand integrity, effective governance, and the ability to navigate complex dynamics, with board members providing strategic oversight while maintaining high ethical standards and prioritizing stakeholder interests.

Our BoardWorks Compass (BWC) Framework is crafted as a guiding principle that guides and reflects a leader’s actions. It outlines the leadership requirements across the three (3) tiered Leadership levels:

The Leadership Compass (LC) is developed with a unique blend of our impactful Heritage-driven principles and Leadership Qualities that are essential to drive Transformation. The 8 qualities serve as the leadership ‘standards’ that shapes the organizational culture, fostering an environment of ethical leadership, empowerment and inclusivity hence all the ingredients needed for Transformational Leadership.

The CEO Compass (CC) defines the specific business outcomes expected of the C-suite leaders. The primary Performance Dimensions that we identify represent the core business outcomes. Assessing these dimensions helps us identify a candidate who aligns with the organization’s values and vision, promoting ongoing growth and success.

The Board Compass (BC) is an agility model that delineates the essential roles and responsibilities of a board member. It outlines the leadership qualities and governance requirements necessary for an agile board performance. Serving as a guiding framework, the BC is used for Board evaluation to assess overall board dynamics, effectiveness, and individual member contributions, ensuring the board operates cohesively and strategically to achieve organizational objectives.
